First Home Buyers

In an increasingly competitive housing market, you need an expert by your side to help you reach your home ownership goals. At Ingerson, we combine local knowledge, genuine care, and a reputation built on trust, to provide a clear path towards your home ownership goals. We have access to a broad range of lenders and loans to suit first home buyers and will walk you through every stage of the process.

The Pre-Approval Process

Pre-approval provides first home buyers with a greater understanding of how much they can borrow and helps to speed up the home buying process once you’ve found your home. We make sure you understand all the terms and conditions of your pre-approval and know what’s in the fine print.

Your First Home Loan Options

There’s more ways to get on the property ladder than just saving up for a 20% deposit. At our initial meeting, we’ll sit down with you and get to know your financial situation, your goals, and provide independent advice on what you can do to secure a home loan.

First Home Buyers

With a First Home Loan you only need a 5% deposit which means getting into your first home is that much easier. The First Home Loan is an initiative offered by selected banks and underwritten by Kainga Ora to lend on a lower deposit without restrictions. We also have access to a broad panel of lenders that can make your goal of property ownership a reality, without a 20% deposit.

KiwiSaver Deposit

If you’re a first home buyer and have been contributing to KiwiSaver for more than three years you may be able to withdraw some or all your KiwiSaver contributions, employer contributions, returns on investments received or any member tax credits. We have assisted many clients with securing a home loan by utilising their KiwiSaver to increase the size of their initial deposit.

KiwiSaver First Home Grant

If you’ve been contributing to KiwiSaver for three years and fit KiwiSaver’s criteria you could be eligible for up to $20,000 of additional grants to help you with a deposit. Each KiwiSaver member may be eligible for up to $5,000 towards the purchase of an existing home, or $10,000 for each member, to purchase a new home, or land to build on.

The First Home Grant is subject to income, KiwiSaver, deposit, and property requirements. See the full list of requirements here.

We’ll Find A Solution For You

If your bank has already turned you down for pre-approval, there are still ways we can help. We provide home loans and mortgage advice that is independent and usese a range of lenders and loans.

If securing a home loan isn’t an option right now, we will provide you with the steps needed to get your finances into better shape and increase the chances of pre-approval in a few month’s time.
